Robert Howard Carter

CARTER, Robert H. Galesburg Passed away Dec. 7, 2011 at Rose Arbor. Robert was born June 5, 1928 in Kalamazoo the son of Arthur and Viola (Pike) Carter. He married Phyllis Tuckey March 17, 1951. Robert was a Past member of Power Squadron, Engineering Society and Rotary of Galesburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sailing, sports car driving and member of Gold Wings. Robert was a machine salesman in the greater Kalamazoo area for over 45 years. Surviving is his wife Phyllis, 2 daughters; Sandra (Melvin) Porter of Battle Creek and Susan Carter of Park Hills, KY., 4 grandchildren, Stephanie (Porter) Thornton, Bryan Porter both of Battle Creek and Stacey (Walenga) Stewart of Hebron, KY. and Mitchell Carter of Kalamazoo, 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son; Thomas Carter. At his request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday Dec. 10, 2011 at11am Langelands Galesburg Chapel with visitation from 10 to 11am. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice.
