Robert Portera

Robert “Bob” Portera, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the age of 65. Bob was born to Anthony and Ann (Borchers) Portera on December 15, 1956. Bob served his country proudly in the Army. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 plus years. Bob loved the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. He was an encyclopedia when it came to the Yankees and John Wayne. Bob enjoyed golf, bowling, visiting Disney World with his daughter and going to the movies. He loved spending time with his kids and taking them to baseball games. Bob is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Robert Harrison; and brother Henry Portera. Bob is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary (Harrison) Portera; children Charles Portera and Chrissy (Matthew) Cusworth; sister Diane Patricia; brother Allen Portera; mother-in-law Marian (Humphrey) Franklin; brother-in-law Michael (Lori) Harrison; sister-in-law Susan (Rick) Goodenough; and several nieces and nephews.
