Robert Charles Radesky

Robert Charles Radesky, Sr., died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Bob was born on April 3, 1941, in Coloma, Michigan, to Arthur and Margaret Radesky. Bob was the grandson of a German immigrant and he graduated from Coloma High School in 1959. Bob was the happy and committed husband of Doris D. Radesky for over 44 years. He loved both collegiate and professional sports. Bob cheered on Detroit sports teams for nearly 60 years and loved the Lions greatest of all. Over the years, Bob worked for Auto Specialties and Leco Corporation. On February 14, 1994, he went to work for Lane Automotive in Watervliet, Michigan where he quickly received the moniker "Rowdy". After beginning in the shipping department, Rowdy worked in the receiving department and subsequently finished his 17 years at Lane's patrolling the aisles in the material handling department. When not at work, Bob enjoyed spending time studying the Bible with his family, playing a round of golf with his sons, and giving special attention to Kiki, his beloved, adopted stray cat. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a lifelong resident of Watervliet, Michigan. The family is extremely grateful and gives special thanks to all his friends and family throughout the Michiana area for their steadfast support of Bob during these difficult last few months. Bob died at a local hospital as his beloved Lions prepared for playoff success. He had unwavering hope that his team would eventually win the Super Bowl, and he was more confident than ever that this was the year. The team he so loved no longer has their greatest fan. Bob and Doris were the proud parents of two children, Rob (Captain in United States Air Force) and Corey (Field Engineer at Microsoft Corporation). Bob had one grandchild, and he is also survived by one sister, Sharon Renner. A private memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the The Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, 641 S. Crystal Ave., Benton Harbor, MI 49022, telephone: 269-927-3303, email: humanesocietyofswmichigan@gmail.com.
