Roger Alan Shoemaker Age 82 Three Rivers, MI Passed away Monday November 2, 2009 in Three Rivers, MI. He was the son of Wayne and Nellie (Sheridan) Shoemaker, born in Coopersville, MI, on August 25, 1927. On May 31, 1952, he married Dorothy Ann Smith, of Kalamazoo, MI. Roger was Chief of Adult Probation for Kalamazoo County and resided in Schoolcraft, MI, until 1977 when he began his career as Adult Probation and Parole Officer for the State of MI residing in Escanaba, MI, until his retirement. Roger served with the Navy Air Corp and is a Veteran of WWII. Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy, 3 daughters: LouAnne (Louis Sanchez), Linda Benthin, Holly (Doug) Norton, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at the Schoolcraft Cemetery at 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2009. Reverend Paula Vander Hoven officiating. Respite immediately following services. Location to be at the Westminister Hall at 2:00 pm. Cremation has taken place through Avink Funeral Home Cremation Society in Schoolcraft, MI.
