Ronald Gregersen

Ronald Zelden Gregersen, Sr, passed away on 26 August 2024. On September 3rd he would have been 86. He will be missed, deeply, by all who knew and loved him. 

He enjoyed a full life, overcoming many personal obstacles, including losing a leg from a motorcycle accident when he was in his early twenties. 

He enjoyed being a farm mechanic on the Boysen/Gregersen farm, which later became Boysen farm. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the gravel pit, Aggregate, in Cooper, MI. He worked at Massey Ferguson plant in Prairieville, MI. 

His favorite hobby was working on automobiles. 

He first married Betty Cameron and had Ronald Zelden Gregersen Jr and later divorced. 

Then on July 31, 1964, he married Barbara Smith-McNees, who became the love of his life. Barbara added her five children, Kimberly, Jerry, Howard, Glen, and Cindi to the family. 

Together, they add one more, Arthur Ronald Scott Gregersen. 

 He showed his love for all the children as best he could. 

He is survived by his two sons: Ronald Z. Jr (Rita) of Baldwin and Arthur R. of Martin Twp, two grandsons Ronald Z. III (Jamie) of Allegan, and Tyler, great grandchildren Katy (Austin) of Niles, Dayton, Dominic, and Kooper of Allegan, three great great granddaughters Autumn, Cheyenne, and Electra, of Niles. A sister, residing in Baldwin, Marlene M. Gregersen. 

He is also survived by four of his stepchildren: Jerry McNees, Howard McNees, Glen McNees, Cindi Patrick as well as many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 60 years, Barbara. She passed away February 22, 2024; by his father, Zelden Detlef Gregersen, his mother Mary Ellen Roberts, a brother, Larry Gregersen, and a stepdaughter, Kimberly. Ronald will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of loving and knowing him.
