Ronald James Sauer 4/29/1938 -6/8/2015 Marcellus, MI After years of living with COPD, Rons heart final gave out the morning of June 8, 2015. Ron was born April 29, 1938 to Otis and Mildred Sauer. Growing up in Schoolcraft, Ron graduated from Schoolcraft High School and went to WMU, graduating with a bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married his high school sweat heart Patricia Ann Bates, they had three children. After Patricia's death he remarried adopting two sons. Later in life he met his soul mate, Arlene Smoot. They were married, together for 27 years before she preceded him in death. Ron enjoyed the outdoors and there are many stories of the past hunts and adventures, he loved his garden, and collected Native American artifacts walking many fields in search of a treasure from the past. His door was always open to friends and family He truly enjoyed life. He is survived by his brother Dr. Jack Sauer, His two daughters, Laura ZIiemba (Chaz), Shannon Sauer-Becker (John), His Three Sons Mark Sauer (Trudy), Andy Kane (Carmen), and Dr. Scott Sauer. His step children Chuck Smoot (Lori), Robert Smoot (deceased) wife Dalene, Connie Smoot, and Charlene Etkind, his 13 grandchildren (Ariel, Wolfgang, Jared, Erica, Melissa, Jasmen, James, Judge, Kimberly, Katie, Kristine, Joey, and Perry, Michael, and Carla and his great-grandchildren; Neo, Oluvair, Dalaney, Carson, Avery, Keira, Anna Belle, Hunter, Nathanael, Abigail and Life Long Friend, Charlie Sweet. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 13th at 11:00 at Schoolcraft Cemetery. Followed by a celebration of Ron's life 1:00 at his home 93884 Becker Drive, Marcellus
