Ronald Wayne Stevens

Passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at home with his family by his side. He was born in Vicksburg, MI, on December 27, 1937, the son of the late Bernard and Florence (Francisco) Stevens-White. Ron was a lifetime resident of the Kalamazoo area and attended WMU. On May 10, 1958, he married the love of his life, Sue(Papierz) Stevens, who survives. Ron was a wonderful man who loved his family and friends. He was a hard worker who was employed by the W-L Molding Company for over 42 years. Ron loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and picking Morels during mushroom season. He also enjoyed sports, and was a dedicated Tigers and NASCAR fan. He was a faithful member of Kalamazoo Covenant Church and his heart and home were always open to those in need. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed. He also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Terri Stevens, Timothy (Karen) Stevens, Ronda (Bob) Pakiela, and Philip (Lonny) Stevens; eight grandchildren, Justin, Randi, Kyle, Lani, Matthew, Dacotah, Shyannah, and Jacob; 3 foreign exchange grandchildren, Fran, Beauty, Ha; a sister, Carol Stack; a brother, Keith (Marcia) Stevens; many nieces, nephews, and beloved pet, "Rosie." A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held on Wednsday, February 29, 2012, beginning at 3:00, at the Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 East Main, Kalamazoo, MI 49048, with Pastor Dave Beetham officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Kalamazoo Covenant Church or Heartland Hospice.
