Rosemarie Yoder

Rosemarie Yoder, 83 of Vicksburg, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 16th, 2023. She was born on February 8, 1940, in Kalamazoo to Leo and Neva Powers.

She graduated from Portage Central High School in 1958 and started working as a seamstress for a dry-cleaning business owned by her future in laws. While her kids were growing up, she worked at a bakery in Vicksburg, and at Vandenboss Greenhouses in Comstock. After the kids were grown, she worked for Pyramid Oil, as well as Finks Convenience Store, both in Vicksburg.               

On February 6th, 1959, she married Jerry Wayne Yoder. They were blessed with 4 Children and were happily married for over 60 years. Rosie loved spending time with her family. She had 4 grandchildren, and several “adopted” grandchildren. She has 21 great grandchildren.

After retirement, she and Jerry traveled to Alaska several times for vacation.  In her earlier years, Rosie’s hobbies were reading, sewing, and crocheting. She made a crocheted blanket for every grandchild. Rosemarie and Jerry raised their kids with the faith of God and was a member of Mapleview Baptist Church. She had a relationship with her Savior, who now keeps her in His eternal care.

Rosemarie is survived by three of her children, Robert (Vicki) Yoder, Barbara (Mark) Forward, Patrick (Angela) Yoder, and a sister, Sandra (Edward) Krumlauf.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Yoder, her oldest child, Thomas Wayne Yoder, and a sister, Nancy Ann Vine, and both her parents.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 2pm at the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1pm until 2pm. Burial will be at the Vicksburg Cemetery.
