Passed away and went to be with her Lord on December 3, 2009, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born September 12, 1914, in Hebron, Ohio, to Charles B. Hensel and Mabel B. (Schaeffer) Hensel. She was united in marriage to Ralph F. Hensel on June 4, 1933. Surviving are her three daughters Julia Vanlaningham of Williamstown, PA, Joan (Dennis) Kizziar of Bend, OR, and Mary (Gerald) Evenson of Kalamazoo, MI. Her husband of 73 years (Ralph) preceded her in death in 2006 and a daughter (Sally) in 1976. Survivors also include seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Ruth and her husband made their home in Tempe and Phoenix during their 50 years of residence in AZ. The last five years she lived in Kalamazoo, MI, to be near her daughter and family. Ruth will be remembered as a faithful, loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother. With all the changes she had in her life, her attitude was sweet and accepting for she truly believed "great is His faithfulness." Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and interment will be at a later date in Baltimore, OH, at the Union Evangelical Cemetery by the Hensel's previous farm and home church on Snyder Church Road. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wyndham West for the excellent, loving care she received during her five years of residency and also to Sue's Loving Care in Parchment for making her last weeks of life a very loving and fun time.
