Ruth Matteson

MATTESON, Ruth M. Portage Passed away April 2, 2010 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Ruth was born July 11, 1927 in Kalamazoo the daughter of William and Johanna (Stel) Cardiff. Ruth was an RN at Bronson Methodist Hospital for over 35 years. She married Ford Matteson Feb. 5, 1949 who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons; James (Aneda) Matteson of Portage, Dale (Gail) Matteson of Buchanan and Jon (Tracy) Matteson of Portage, a daughter; Kathleen (Rick) Sierra of Honolulu, HI., 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, a sister-in-law; Marilyn Cardiff of Kalamazoo and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister. At her request cremation has taken place. Burial of cremains will take place at Mt. Ever Rest Cemetery at a later date.
