Ruth Ann Meyer

Ruth A. Meyer of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed peacefully on June 13, 2024, at the age of 97 while in hospice care. She was born on September 25, 1926, in Oskaloosa, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph and Della James. After graduation from Perry High School, she worked as a telephone operator in Lawrence, Kansas where she subsequently met and married Marvin W. Meyer on June 16, 1951. From 1952 to 1978, they made their home in Oberlin, Kansas where they raised their children and spent many happy years. Ruth was an avid gardener raising tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. She was also active in St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Monday Evening Club. In 1978, she and Marvin moved to Topeka, Kansas where she continued to live after Marvin’s death in 2006. In 2014 she moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan where she spent her remaining years. She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Marvin W. Meyer, by her parents, and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Mark of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Timothy of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and a grand-daughter, Katrina Meyer.
