Sally Ann Crosse (Newman) died peacefully, with family by her side, on June 17, 2019. Sally is lovingly remembered by her children, William G. Rantz (Colleen Prichard), Cheryl A. Meech, and Marjorie R. Endres (Robert). Sally was a deeply proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Garrett and Gavin Rantz; Jason and Josh Meech; Michael, Kristen and Ashley Endres, and three great-grandchildren, Derek, Owen, and Joey Meech. Sally was born August 7, 1934 in Plainwell MI. She was preceded in death by her husband Byron J. Crosse; brother, Richard M. Newman of Interlaken, FL and her parents, Milton and Ruth (Wendt) Newman. She was a 1952 graduate of Plainwell High School. Sally married Gene L. Rantz in 1955. She was part-owner and accountant of the family business, Timber Ridge Ski Area, until retiring. After her family, Sally loved, riding horses, making arts & crafts, bingo, dancing, bicycle riding, league bowling, and her beloved bichon dog, Foo Foo. In 1990 Sally and Byron Crosse began a romance and later a marriage that lasted for the remainder of their lives. They adored each other. Sally and Byron enjoyed retirement together, travelling between their homes in Ruskin, FL on Tampa Bay and Baseline Lake in Gobles, MI. They also found adventure traveling internationally and flying the float airplane. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Alzheimer Association. The family would like to thank the staff at Vicinia Gardens for the love and care they extended to our dear mother in her final year. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life, together with her late husband Byron, is planned for 5pm-8pm August 2, 2019 at the Park Club 219 West South St. in Kalamazoo.
