Sandra MacVean of Martin, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was born September 25, 1934, to Eldon VanLent Sr. and Marie (Brown) VanLent of Otsego.
Sandra graduated from Otsego High School in 1952. On January 22, 1972, she married Ron MacVean of Martin. Together they farmed and raised kids. In their 50 years of marriage regular church attendance was a priority. First at Martin Methodist, later at Watson Bible and finally Gun Lake Community. Together Sandra & Ron enjoyed time with their family, the Allegan County Fair, traveling to all the lower 48 states. Even recently traveling to Alabama in December of 2021 before Sandra became ill and they returned home on January 11, 2022.
Sandra is preceded in her passing by her parents; brothers: Jim VanLent and Eldon VanLent, grandson: Peter Stender; and great granddaughter: Raegan Snyder.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years: Ron MacVean; sister: Sharon VanLent of Allegan; children: Deb (Marty) Tate of Coldwater, Jayne (Blaine) McLeod of White Lake, Connie (Joel) Newton of Lowell, Ken (Rosie) Jager of Martin, Mike (Carrie) Jager of Martin, Tom Jager of Wayland, Charlie (Carol) Jager of Wayland, Linda (Craig) Zeinstra of Shelbyville, Doug (Nikki) MacVean of Martin; twenty grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
In accordance with the family’s wishes public services will be held at the Gun Lake Community Church, 12200 West M-179 Hwy, Wayland, MI 49348, with a visitation on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, with a time for visiting beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service there will be a time for food and fellowship. Sandra will be laid to rest at South Martin Cemetery following the luncheon.
Memorials made in Sandra’s memory may be directed to the Wings of Hope Hospice or the Gun Lake Community Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
