Scott E. James

Scott Edward James, age 65, loving father of five children, thought to have passed away into God’s care on Friday, January 13th, 2023.

Scott was born on November 18th, 1957 in Akron, Ohio to Sandra and David James. He graduated from East High School in 1976, and went on to partner with Eva Duncan, raising two sons, Kyle and Kevin. Later on, he married Lorice James, raising three children, Gabriel, Bella and Noah.

In his youth, Scott played baseball and lived for adventure. He kept this wonderment throughout life, enjoying the outdoors and playing games with his children. He loved dancing and singing to music ranging from Elvis to modern hip-hop/R&B. He was the life of any party he attended. Scott affected so many lives with his big heart, charming smile, and generous sense of humor. If you were so lucky to have heard him tell you “one of his stories,” he would’ve made you believe anything was possible.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, David, his mother, Sandra, and his sister Kelley James. He is survived by his five children, his sister, Elizabeth Daugherty, and two nieces. A memorial service is expected in the summer of 2023

Precious Lord, take my hand

Lead me on, let me stand

I'm tired, I'm weak, I'm lone

Through the storm, through the night

Lead me on to the light

Take my hand, precious Lord

Lead me home "
