Scott M. Thompson, of Wyoming, MI, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the age of 63. Scott was born on May 8, 1961, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was the son of William and Veronika (Hargot) Thompson.
Scott was an honor student and graduate of Hackett Catholic Central and also a graduate of the University of Michigan College of Engineering. He was employed at Materials Testing Consultants since 1985, where, as an Assistant Project Engineer he was a mentor for many team members in Geotechnical Engineering. He is remembered there as patient, caring and having an enthusiastic and exceptionally detailed approach to his work.
Scott enjoyed hobbies, particularly collecting and painting war game sets. His designs took immense talent to complete, and he sometimes traveled to PA to compete with them. Scott was extremely intelligent and an avid reader with a love of history. He also adored animals and will be greatly missed by his dog Susie.
Scott is survived by his mother, Veronika, who's care he was devoted to for many years. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He will be remembered and missed by his mother and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Hackett Catholic Central High School or the SPCA.
A graveside service at Vicksburg Cemetery will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 2pm with Monsignor Thomas Martin officiating.
