Sharon Marie Small

SMALL, SHARON M. Portage Sharon (Laughlin/McCrorey) Small passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was born October 18, 1938 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Harriet (Shively) Laughlin. Sharon attended Kalamazoo Central, Saint A's, and Saint Mary's. She worked several years at Checker Motor Company until her retirement. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, garage sales and camping at the Battle Creek Balloon Show. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Martin "Marty" Small, her parents, brother, Bill Laughlin, and daughter Susan (McCrorey) Greenhalgh. Surviving are her brother, John Laughlin of Michigan Center, her children, Joe McCrorey of Portage, Deb (Scott) Rhoades of Kalkaska, Shawn McCrorey of Marcellus, Pat (Leigh) McCrorey of Marcellus and Andy McCrorey of Portage; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at the Kalamazoo County Masonic Lodge, 4371 W. U Ave, Schoolcraft on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00pm. Refreshments will be served immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in the memory of Sharon may be made to Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes or Kalamazoo County Animal Shelter.
