Sherman Orville Moored of Allegan, MI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the age of 76. He was born on December 12, 1944 in Allegan, the son of Harold Moored and Emma Coffey.
Sherman was a lifelong resident of Allegan, Michigan and he graduated from Allegan High School in 1962. He loved participating in wrestling and football. Following graduation he worked for Rockwell International, he served two years in the United States Army, and was a lifelong dairy farmer.
On September 10, 1965 he married Carol Blackman, together they raised three children.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Ellen Whitcomb
Left to cherish his loving memory is his wife of 55 years: Carol; children: Kelly Moored, Amy (Mark Meninga) Moored, and Robin (Matt) Scott; grandchildren: Lane, Tyler, Addison, Emma, Stephanie, and Cecelia; siblings: Ruth Gardner and Sherwin “Stub” Moored; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In accordance with the family’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Allegan First Church of God, 1313 Marshall Street, Allegan, MI 49010 on Monday, June 21, 2021 with a time of visiting from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Secord officiating. Sherman will be laid to rest at Hudson Corners Cemetery following the service.
