Sherry Lee Kuras

Sherry Lee Kuras, of Portage passed away on Sunday May 27, 2018 at the age of 64. Sherry was born on October 23, 1953 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was the daughter of William and Maxine (Southern) Wooten. Sherry graduated from Portage Central High School in 1971, then completed her Bachelor's Degree through Spring Arbor University. Sherry is described as a loving, artistic, intelligent and strong-willed person that will be missed by all that knew her. She was a wonderful cook, and her family enjoyed her dressing the best. She found her peace in her family and spending time in the garden. She also enjoyed reading non-fiction and cook books, as well as traveling the world. She is survived by her two children: Chris (Jeannette) Kuras, of Delton; Angela Kuras, of Portage; six grandchildren: Nicole McAllister, of PA; Hunter and Haily Kuras, both of Delton; Tiara Kuras, of Kalamazoo; Alyson Anderson, of Portage and Hayden Kuras, of Portage; two great grandchildren: Savannah and Drew. She is also survived by her mother, Maxine Wooten, of Portage; one sister: Janice (Lyle) Lehr, of Mendon. She is preceded in death by her father, William Wooten. Sherry will be cremated and the family will have a private service at a later date.
