Shirley Maxine (Bingham) Shearer was born September 23,1920 to
Wallace and Elmira (Harrison ) Bingham the third of 6 children.
After graduating from Portage High School she met and married
Lyle T. Shearer. Lyle and Shirley farmed in Prairie Ronde Township
most of their married life. They had 9 children. Preceding in death were
her parents, her husband Lyle, sons Lyle, John and Wally and daughter Judy.
Her brothers Charles and Francis, sisters Flora (Betty) Rhoda Doris Shearer,
Margaret Beebe, and all of her Shearer in-laws. She is survived by her children Sharon
Jensen, Mary (Charles) Chemey, James (Candy) Shearer, Steven (Ronda) Shearer, Alma
(Timothy) Geary, 17 grandchildren,26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, many,
many loved nieces and nephews.
Besides raising her children she had many jobs but always had time for a friend or
neighbor in need. She had an Avon route for over 30 years and was known for
her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls.
