Stanley Lee Andres

Stanley L. Andres, of Portage passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the age of 73. Stanley was born on December 29, 1951, in Vicksburg, MI. He was the son of Bruce and Charlotte (Hewey) Andres. Stan graduated from Portage Central High School. His career started with roofing for Brundige, then followed by some construction work, before finishing as a truck driver for Schneider Trucking.

His true love was motorcycles which included riding his Harley-Davidson. He was also a part owner of a drag racing motorcycle. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and being a sports memorabilia collector of all kinds. Stanley was also a lover of animals as well.

Stan leaves a legacy that was filled with laughter, having a great sense of humor, being a great guy, and at times a little strong-willed.

Stanley is survived by his son: Michael (Janet Swanwick) Andres, of Galesburg; three grandchildren: Sydney (Jacob) Henderson, of Fulton; Chase Andres, of Portage; and Matthew Andres, of Vicksburg; and one great grandson: Oliver Henderson.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Bruce and Charlotte Andres; and one brother: Ken Andres.

Stanley has been cremated and a memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
