Steven Ralph Smith, of Scotts passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the age of 67. Steve was born on March 11, 1951 in Kalamazoo. He was the son of Ralph and Marjorie (Morse) Smith. On April 4th, 1975 he married Sandra Worden. Steve is described as hard working, social, caring, loving and dedicated to provide for his family and cared about his community. Steve worked for the Pavilion Township Fire Department for 45 years and served as Fire Chief for 23 years. He enjoyed going to Farm and Truck Shows and driving his 1969 Ford Fairlane. Steve his survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandy; five children: Shannon (Abe) Northup, of Portage; Shaun Smith, of Scotts; Stuart Smith, of Scotts; Spencer Smith, of Scotts; and Stacia (Matt) Weaver, of Portage; five grandchildren: Christopher Smith, Tristin Northup, Trinity Northup, Zackary Weaver, and Phoebe Weaver. He is also survived by his two siblings Alan and Jane Smith. He is preceded in death by one son Scott Smith and his parents Ralph and Marjorie Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm at the McCowen & Secord Life Story Family Funeral Home, Rupert-Durham Chapel, 409 S. Main, Vicksburg (269-649-1697). There will also be a gathering one hour prior to the service on Thursday beginning at 10am. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am at the Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 7520 East U Ave, Vicksburg with Chaplain John Woullard officiating.
