Susan Rae Murphy

Murphy (Tripp) Susan R. Of Plainwell, MI. Susan Rae Murphy, Wife, Mother, Grand Mother, Aunt, passed away suddenly Thursday February 25th at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born March 10th, 1958 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Daughter of Corinne (Griffith) Tripp and Raymond Tripp. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and brother (James Tripp). Susan was a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Borgess Hospital for 41 years. She was set to retire from her position of 41 years March 11th. Susan was as dedicated to her job as a person could possibly be. However, her dedication to her job paled in comparison to her dedication to her family. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Kevin Murphy; children: Amie Murphy-Powers (Timothy Powers) and Brian Murphy (Shania Murphy); her grandchild Elodie Susan Powers; Niece Erin Tripp and great nieces: Avanelle and Mara. Susan absolutely cherished her children. In October 2020 Susan became a Grandmother. And the birth of her namesake Elodie Susan was her greatest joy. She was not only a Mother to her own children, but a mother to every one of her children’s friends. Those that knew and loved her described her as wise, vibrant and an ear to lean on when in need. She was a wonderful very caring wife. Susan and Kevin loved to go to their favorite restaurants, and over the past 11 years all over the US to visit their son, serving in the United States Army. Memorial donations can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation. A Public Catholic Funeral Mass will be held Monday March 1st at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kalamazoo, MI at 11:00 AM. A public memorial visitation will be held for family and friends at a later date and will be announced on social media.
