Terese Ann Beaman

Terry Beaman, of Plainwell, passed away peacefully in the company of her family on Saturday, January 7th, 2017. If you knew Terry for any bit of time you knew these 3 things about her: she loved the Lord, she loved her family, and she loved Paul McCartney (an odd fascination all the way to the end). Terry worked as an optician and managed the Sears Optical in Benton Harbor (and in Kalamazoo for a time) for over 20 years. Outside of work and family, Terry was an avid reader and exhibited a creative side with her tinkering of the piano, crocheting, reading, and writing po-etry. Of course, she had her vices with a competitive side when it came to FarmVille, and the ever-growing collection of yarn and random Beatles memorabilia. Terry leaves behind some of her most favorite simple pleasures of good cheese, bread, coffee, and a glass or two of wine. Terry was also a woman of many talents. Her children would tell you that she was ex-ceptional at scratching their heads until they fell asleep and giving some pretty amazing hugs. Regardless of whatever was happening in life, Terry was always that listening ear of support whenever times got bad. She will be most fondly remembered of the moments she played her guitar and sang Emmy Lou Harris and John Denver songs with a glow about her face. Terry was preceded in death by her son, Matthew, mother, Sharon Weingartz, father, Richard Ulrich, and brother, Mark. Terry is survived by her daughter, Rebecca; siblings, Sherry, Dick, Janet, Maggie, Elizabeth, and Paul; and grandchildren, Mckenzie, Charlotte, Aimee, Emily, Austin, Jackson, and Forrest. At Terry's request, she will be cremated and no service will be held because she simply did not want anyone to fuss over her death. So if you knew Terry, take a moment to think of her and smile in remembrance of her good days.
