Terri J. (Burson) Burgess

Terri Jean Burgess, of Vicksburg passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at the age of 65. Terri grew up in Schoolcraft. She was the daughter of Milton and Betty (Gardeneer) Burson. She was born on August 16, 1956 in Kalamazoo. Terri was a graduate of Schoolcraft High School with the Class of 1974. In the year 2000 she married Richard Burgess and they made their home in Vicksburg. Home was her happy place. She worked for over 20 years for Lear Corporation in Mendon. She loved to collect Native American artifacts and loved their culture. She followed all of the Detroit professional sports teams. Terri was proud of her children, grandchildren and extended family. She was a four-legged mom as well to her dogs. Terri’s family will remember her as quiet, kind and loving.

Terri is survived by her husband of 21 years, Richard; two children: Jason (Brittany) Jukes and Kristen (Brian) Shannon; three stepchildren: Joe, Lauren, and Grace; and 19 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister: Peggy Baldwin and mother-in-law: Claudia Burgess. She is preceded in death by her five siblings: Robert, Louise, KC, Mike and Marlene; and her special dog, Sergeant Carter.

In accordance with her wishes Terri has been cremated and the family will be holding a small memorial on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Main St. Pub, 52879 North Main Street, Mattawan, MI 49071 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
