Terry E. Quinn, age 85, of Marcellus, MI passed away Thursday, January, 26, 2017.
He was born January 12, 1932 in Marcellus, MI the son of Robert and Irene (Correll) Quinn. On June 11, 1955, in Three Rivers, MI, he married Mary L. Hibbard. Terry graduated as valedictorian from Marcellus High School in 1950. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Air Force as a Russian translator. He completed his BA at Western Michigan University and then continued his studies at Harvard before completing his MA at Western Michigan. He was an educator for over 30 years in Alpena, Battle Creek, and Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was a life long believer in the power of education to transform lives. During the 1960s, he and his young family moved to Micronesia for five years to train teachers and improve schools there. He was a coin and stamp collector, enjoyed woodworking, the Audubon Society and a good bargain. Terry was on the Board of Directors at the Marcellus Library for many years and was a member of the Marcellus V.F.W. Post 4054. Husband, father, educator, patriot. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mary and his children: Maria, Constance, Gregory (Melinda Nordstrand) and Kelly; two brothers, John and David; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers James, Ivan, Richard, Roger and his sister Patricia Galinet.
