THOMAS PAGE DAY 3/21/1933 - 6/26/2020 Shelbyville, MI Thomas P. Day age 87, died June 26, 2020 at his home from complications with a heart condition. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on March 21, 1933 the only child of Lyman G. Day and Eva D. (Gemberling) Day. Thomas attended Kalamazoo Central High School, class of 1951, then enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He served three years of active duty two of them in Germany. Tom was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1954. He was a Corporal as a Morse code radio operator. He received the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and National Defense Service Medal. He received his B.S. Degree in Radio and Television Technology and Industrial Supervision Studies from Western Michigan University in 1959. He was employed at Fuller Transmission, which later became part of Eaton Corporation, holding several different positions and retiring in 1991 after 32 years. Tom and Lori enjoyed many years of retirement in Cape Coral, Florida, and Gun Lake Michigan. He was a member of the Elks Club, American Legion and V.F.W. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Dolores (Early) Day, a/k/a Lori Day: Daughters, Linda (Dan) Holmes, LeAnn (Matt) Deittrick, Laurie Day: Son, Thomas L. Day: 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren: cousins and many special friends. Tom was a much loved and respected man who will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a future date. A private ceremony will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell, Michigan.
