Thomas Lee Haggard, age 80, passed away on January 9, 2021. Tom was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 8, 1940, the son of the late Forrest and Gertrude Haggard. At the young age of 17, Tom joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Vietnam veteran and after serving his country for 25 years, he retired as a Master Sergeant. Tom also worked at the General Motors in Comstock for 23 years. He enjoyed fishing and watching football, especially when Notre Dame and Ohio State were playing.
Tom is survived by his sons, James Haggard of Portland, Thomas (Kelly) Haggard of Kalamazoo; 5 grandchildren: Clay, Paige, Mason, Ashley and Kacey; 7 great grandchildren: Isabelle, Caiden, J.J., Kenzie, Zoey, Weston and Brooklynn as well as several nieces. Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mitsu (Maeshiro) Haggard; his siblings: Pete and Barb.
Due to COVID, there will be no services at this time. He will be placed to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery with military honors.
