Thomas, 72, of Colon, Michigan passed Friday December 11 in Kalamazoo.
He was born in Desha, Arkansas on February 3, 1948 the son of Woodrow W. Hunter and Edna L. (Dawson) Hunter.
Thomas was a School Teacher, working for over 30 years at Colon Elementary School in Colon, MI. He was a dedicated family man, always placing his family’s needs before his own. Thomas had a deep love and dedication for teaching, and he never forgot his students, and often kept in touch with them thru out the years. From a very young age Thomas was an extreme history buff and he traveled extensively in pursuit of knowledge of the “yester” year
Thomas is survived by his sister Billy “Frances” (Wayne) Mattix, his brother Wilson D. (Linda) Hunter, and many nieces and nephews.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Edna Hunter, and one sister Margaret A. Lee and one brother Willie D. Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. December 16, 2020 at Marcellus Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left at www.materralstonfuneralhome.com
