Toni Perricone

Toni Janette Perricone, of Portage, MI passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the age of 79 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 8, 1941 in Leslie, MI. The daughter of Max and Verna (Laberteaux) Mills. Toni is survived by her children, Charles Ray, Malia Rose (Steve), and Amy Louise; grandchildren, Chase (Katie) Perricone, Sam Perricone (Andrea), Elizabeth “Liza” Perricone, Lacey Williams, Abbey Williams, Emma (Matt) Higgs, and Jacob Bomeli; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Ron, and Ted; and many nieces and nephews. Toni is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 37 years, Salvatore Charles Perricone; her siblings, Jon, David, Tom, and Joy. Toni loved to sew, garden when she could and spend time with her beloved dog Henry. However, her life’s passion was her family. She devoted her life to her children and their children. Despite a lifetime of pain and suffering, she was always there—always—for each of them. She fought through each and every painful day and night for no other reason. All of her children and grandchildren describe her as their “Hero,” and the “True North” they relied upon for guidance throughout their own lives. She was one of the first calls or visits each made for advice, or to share an experience. Her message was simple: “Listen and believe in yourself.” Her gift was her ability to instill the confidence to do so. “If the measure of one’s life is the character they’ve instilled in others, then our Mother is a shining star. We are all so much better having had the privilege of loving her,” her son said. “And we know it.” While visiting Toni's tribute page please take a moment to light a candle or share a memory with the family.
