Gerald Lavern “Vern” Cochran, of Allegan passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the age of 88. Vern was born on May 22, 1931 in Holland. He was the son of Samuel and Cydnia (Knapp) Cochran. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy, serving on a aircraft carrier. He was married to Christine “Chris” Johnson and together they had three daughters: Cathy, Janis and Nancy. Vern developed TriPonds Camping in the 1960’s. He retired from Rockwell International and operated Cochran Tree Farm after his retirement. Vern has nurtured many pets over the years, usually one more pet than she could appreciate. In his spare-time Vern enjoyed woodworking, birdwatching, card playing, and countless project. Traveling throughout all 50 states brought him a lot of pleasure.
Vern is survived by his wife, Christine; three daughters: Cathy (Rich) Espinoza; Janis (Kirk) Reynolds; Nancy (Mike) Bylsma; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
