Verna Fay Harms, age 91, of Marcellus, MI passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at Masonic Pathways, Alma, MI after a lengthy illness.
She was born on November 20, 1922 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of Elias R. and Harriet V (Disher) Christiansen.
She had been a resident of Marcellus since 1950 and previous to that in Vicksburg, MI. She was a life member of Ideal Chapter No. 167, O.E.S. and Past Matron & Chaplain. She formerly work as a crossing guard for Marcellus Community Schools.
Surviving are one daughter, Susan Siwik of Paw Paw, MI; three sons, Rodney J. (Judith) Harms of Bristol, IN, Craig A. (Carol) Harms, Gobles, MI and Brent P. (Sharon) Harms of Sumter, SC; one sister, Jean C. Purcell of Milford, MI; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Anderson and one brother, Gordon Christiansen.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
Arrangements were handled by the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
