Warner, Victor Lynn 7/4/1939 - 7/2/2016 Kalamazoo Vic Warner passed away peacefully July 2, 2016 at Medilodge of Westwood, Kalamazoo, MI after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Vic was born in Big Rapids, MI on July 4, 1939 to parents Victor and Laila (Oleson) Warner. He graduated Big Rapids High School, attended Ferris State College and shortly after receiving an Associate Degree, relocated to Coldwater, MI where he worked for the Branch County Health Department as a Sanitarian. He later earned a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Public Administration from Western Michigan University and subsequently was employed by the City of Kalamazoo Building Division in 1978. In 1980 Vic was hired by the State of Michigan Department of Agriculture where he worked until retiring in 2002. Vic enjoyed fly fishing, camping at the Pigeon River, antiquing, and had many friends with which he shared good times. Vic is survived by his wife, Nancy, stepsons Mike and Mark Walcott, daughters Carol McMillan and Jill Warner, grandchildren Alyssa Slater, Max Walcott, Tyler Walcott, Lauren and Clay Januhowski, Abby and Jacob Ward, and sisters Diana Jones and Sharon Baumgartner. A celebration of Vic's life and a sharing of stories will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in Vic's name.
