William Richard (Dick) Rafferty, son of John and Lorena Raffety, was born on December 15, 1932 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Upon graduation from Schoolcraft High School and Western Michigan University, he was a teacher and coach for over 30 years (a member of the Michigan High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame). Active in his community he served on the Village Council, Schoolcraft Community Schools Board of Education and was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. However, his greatest joy was found in his large family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Richard (Mary) Rafferty, Kathleen Dixon, Donald (Janice) Rafferty, James (Toni) Rafferty; grandchildren Dianna (Chad) Coley, Cullen (Ashley) Dixon, Cormac Dixon, Jack and Ian Rafferty, Jozie and Drew Rafferty; great granddaughters Kylie and Kinsley Dixon; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 28 from 4-7 pm at Westminster Hall of the First Presbyterian Church of Schoolcraft. The service will be held at the church on Saturday, June 29 at 11 am.
