William H. Hardin, age 83, of Stevensville, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph, MI.
He was born on August 23, 1934 the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Braswell) Hardin. On August 9, 1954 in Mississippi, he married Paulean (Ballard) Hardin, who survives.
William was a mechanic all his life, owning his own auto repair business. His hobby was farming and raising cattle. He enjoyed hunting & fishing. William cherished his family and grandchildren and also had a love of all animals. Dad was a man of great Christian faith, values, and morals and strove to pass them onto his family by example.
Surviving along with his wife Paulean, is one son, William (Karen) Hardin of Lawrence, MI; one daughter Vickie Hardin-Wright of Walahalla, MI; one grandson, Eric Hardin of Lawrence, one granddaughter Angie Koehler; three brothers, Clarence (Roberta) Hardin of Benton Harbor, MI, Jim (Toni) Hardin of St. Joseph, MI and Milton (Shelly) Hardin of Coloma, MI; and one sister, Delores (Jack) Naegele of Marrietta, GA; several nieces & nephews and special friends Leonard Atwood, Steve Martin and Jim Dilts. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Williams, grandson, John Williams and two brothers, Larry and Calvin Hardin.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Christian Reformed Church, 3275 Washington Ave., St. Joseph, MI 49085. Memorial Services will immediately follow at 11 AM with Rev. G. Ben Bowater IV from Red Arrow Ministries, Paw Paw, MI officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Grace Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, MI.
