William Sage

William Richard Sage, age 86, of Kalamazoo passed away peacefully on July 16, 2019 surrounded by family. Born January 3, 1933 to Cleon and Nina (McElheney) Sage in Gobles, MI. He is survived by his significant other: Elise Lehr; children: Deborah (Lee) Waber, Troy (Cindy) Sage, William (Dawn) Sage; son in law: Howard Call; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings: Jim (Cleo) Sage, Tim (Margaret) Sage, Tom Sage, Sis (Roy) Wessels, Sandy Castle; and many nieces and nephews. William is preceded in death by his wife: Florence (Poulsen) Sage; daughter: Robin Call; sibling: Pat (Larry) Baker, Dennis Sage, Mary Haggard, Gordon Castle. Throughout the years he worked at Peter Eckridge and Sons and then Greater Kalamazoo Auto Auction. William served his country proudly in the Army. Burial and Military honors will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 2pm with luncheon to follow at the VFW Post 1527, 1920 Kilgore Rd., Portage, MI 49002. Please visit William’s page at www.avinkcremation.com.
