William A. Wolthuis, of Plainwell passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the age of 63. Bill was born on December 12, 1954 in Kalamazoo. He was the son of John and Mildred (Zidell) Wolthuis. Bill graduated from Plainwell High School in 1973. After high school he began his career with the Brown Company in Kalamazoo which is now known as Graphic Packaging. He graduated from Kalamazoo Valley Community College with his degree as a pipe fitter and retired from Graphic Packaging after a dedicated 39 years. He is described as a very kind, loyal, social, funny, hard-working, and faithful man. He regularly attended Oak Grove Bible Church on Sunday morning. In his spare time he enjoyed taking care of his farm where he raised numerous animals such as horses, cows, chickens, and most recently bees. He also took pleasure in fishing, playing his guitar, watching nascar, and cheering for the Lions. He also loved having his grandchildren out to play on the farm and drive them around on the golf cart. He was always one to help someone out and always looking to make people laugh. If you stopped by his house you better make sure you had the time to talk because he wouldn't ever stop if he had the chance.
He is survived by his two children: Matthew Wolthuis, of Kalamazoo; and Autumn (Matthew) Knapp, of Portage. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Micah, Lydia, Cameron, and Emma; and three siblings: Jim, Judy, and Steve. He is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Danny, Bob, and Diane.
