Winefred “Penny” Fretwell

Penny Fretwell, 75, of Wayland Michigan, passed away with her children and their spouses by her side on Monday, January 24, 2022. Penny was born on October 16, 1946 in Martin Kentucky. She was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a great support to her entire family, she was there for her family everyday and loved them deeply. She was a mother to anyone that needed her. She devoted her life to her family and their wellbeing no matter what their age. She was an amazing cook, she loved to make people their favorite foods and Sunday dinners for the whole family. She loved yard sales and country music. She was a faithful woman who loved God and read her bible continuously.

Penny was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth, her sisters Georgia and Rose, her brother, Bob and children Larry and Dean. She is survived by children, Angela (Ted) Stout, Brian (Judy) Fretwell, Gina (Chris) Nieuwkoop, Jesse (Kim) Fretwell; her grandchildren, Jason (Brandi) Myaard, Sarah (Lisa) Myaard, Lindsey (Mike) Haan, Emily (Aaron) Higbee, Kirsty (Sean) Savastano, Jim (Ashley) Fretwell, Alex (Alysia) Savinsky, Cole Fretwell, Avery Fretwell; her great grandchildren, Leevigh, Harleigh, Tristin, Peyton, Cheyenne, Allianna, Audrey, Bennett; her brothers, Wayne (Becky) Hayes and Larry (Rose) Hayes.

A visitation will be held on Monday January 31, 2022 at 10:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am at the Avink McCowen Secord Funeral Home; 120 S. Woodhams St, Plainwell MI 49080.
