Winifred P Like

Winifred “Winnie” Like, passed away May 11, 2020 at the age of 87. Winnie was born on August 6, 1932 to Don and Rosa (Councell) Cochran in Kalamazoo Michigan. Winnie worked for Parker Hannifan until 1978, when she became part-owner of the Redwood Tavern in Augusta until her retirement in 1995. In the 1990’s, Winnie followed her dream of using her beautiful singing voice and she became a popular Karaoke DJ. For the rest of her life, she continued to bring joy and entertainment to Karaoke venues throughout southwest Michigan She won many singing contests as well as winning hearts everywhere she went. On August 2, 1952 Winnie married Duane Schultz. In 1997, she married Ralph Like. Her kind heart and sweet smile are greatly missed by her survivors, her special friend and companion of 18 years, Ken Blair; her only son Denny (Sharrin) Schultz, her pride and joy grandson Blake Schultz and honorary granddaughter Kennedy Rupert; one sister Marge Bird of Florida; one brother Jim (Jeanette) Cochran of Richland; two step daughters Christine Hale and Louise Dyer, both of Otsego; and several nieces and nephews, step grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends. Winnie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane, husband Ralph; sisters Donna and Marla, one brother Roy and stepdaughter Cathy. A small visitation will be held Friday, May 15th from 11-12:30 at the Marshall Gren Chapel. A celebration of life memorial is being planned for a later date. Per Winnies request memorials may be made to Christian Neighbors in lieu of flowers.
