Our independently-owned funeral home in Plainwell, MI, has been a part of the community for over 85 years. Previous to moving the business 85 years ago, the original funeral home was started by the Marshall family in Martin, MI. The business was later purchased by the Gren family, and affectionately still called by many as the Marshall-Gren Chapel. In 2018, two employees of the Marshall-Gren Chapel had an opportunity to purchase the funeral home they worked for is now the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home and Cremation Society. Today, our Plainwell funeral home has maintained a home-like feeling, where families of all kinds can gather to find peace and comfort with one another. Conveniently located near several cemeteries, including Hillside Cemetery, Ives Cemetery, St. Margaret Cemetery, Mountain Home Cemetery, East and West Cooper Cemetery, the Martin Cemeteries, our funeral home has ample space with versatile rooms that can fit any kind of gathering you wish to host to honor your loved one.
